We have sad news to share about Sir Michael Gambon, the actor famous for being Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. He was 82 years old and passed away due to pneumonia, as shared in a statement from his family.
The statement said, "We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in the hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside, following a bout of pneumonia. Michael was 82. We ask that you respect our privacy at this painful time and thank you for your messages of support and love," conveyed by his publicist Clair Dobbs.
Many of us remember Michael Gambon as the wise Headmaster at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. He appeared in six out of the eight Harry Potter films.
Hames Phelps, who played Fred Weasley in the movies, paid tribute to Gambon on X, saying, "Very sorry to hear about the passing of Michael Gambon. He was, on and off the camera, a legend.
