Cowboys embarrass Giants on the road to pick up first win of 2023 season

The Dallas Cowboys had an easy game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday night. They won 40-0 to start the new year. The Giants had a really bad day, and here's what happened.

At the beginning, the Giants were doing well. Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones were moving the ball and had a chance to score. But then, a mistake by their rookie center, John Michael Schmitz, made them kick a field goal. Unfortunately, the Cowboys blocked it, and Noah Igbinoghene scored for the Cowboys. This changed the game's momentum, and the Giants couldn't recover.

In the first half, things got even worse for the Giants. Barkley got hit hard, and the ball went to DaRon Bland for an interception touchdown. The Cowboys also kicked another field goal, and then Jones threw another interception, which led to a Cowboys touchdown by Tony Pollard.

Graham Gano, the Giants' kicker, also had a bad kick after a long drive, and the fans in the stadium were not happy with the Giants' performance.

The second half didn't get any better for the Giants. The Cowboys easily scored another touchdown, making the score 33-0. Even though the Cowboys were winning big, their quarterback, Dak Prescott, led the team to another touchdown. KaVontae Turpin ran for a touchdown, making it 40-0.

The Giants tried to make a big play, but Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs took the ball away from them. The Cowboys' defense was really fast and gave the Giants a tough time. Jones got sacked seven times by the Cowboys' defense.

The Giants have had problems with their offensive line for a long time, and this game showed that they still have work to do.

The Cowboys played well in all aspects of the game, just like their coach Mike McCarthy wanted. Prescott was taken out of the game after the Cowboys were up by 40 points. He had 143 yards and connected with CeeDee Lamb for 77 of those yards.

Tony Pollard did a great job as the starting running back for the Cowboys, with 70 yards on 14 carries. This was his first game as the primary running back because Ezekiel Elliott is no longer with the team.
