Alabama Football: College football scores, Top 25 rankings, schedule, results for Week 1
Week 1 of college football brought us a bunch of exciting games with the top 25 teams from the preseason AP Poll. Colorado surprised everyone by beating No. 17 TCU in Deion Sanders' first game as their coach.
Here's what happened in Week 1:
Saturday, Sept. 2
- No. 1 Georgia scored 48 points and beat UT Martin, who got 7 points.
- No. 2 Michigan won against East Carolina with a score of 30 to 3.
- No. 3 Ohio State scored 23 points and defeated Indiana, who had 3 points.
- No. 4 Alabama dominated Middle Tennessee with a final score of 56 to 7.
- No. 6 USC had a big win, scoring 66 points against Nevada's 14.
- No. 7 Penn State won with 38 points against West Virginia, who scored 15.
- No. 10 Washington had a convincing win, with a score of 56 to 19 against Boise State.
- No. 11 Texas triumphed over Rice with a final score of 37 to 10.
- No. 12 Tennessee played against Virginia and won with a score of 49 to 13 in Nashville.
- No. 13 Notre Dame scored 56 points against Tennessee State, who managed 3 points.
- No. 15 Oregon had a high-scoring game, winning 81 to 7 against Portland State.
- No. 16 Kansas State faced Southeast Missouri State at 7 p.m. (Big 12/ESPN+).
- Colorado pulled off an upset by beating No. 17 TCU with a close score of 45 to 42.
- No. 19 Wisconsin defeated Buffalo with a score of 38 to 17.
- No. 20 Oklahoma had a dominant win, with a final score of 73 to 0 against Arkansas State.
